About Us

The Asian Welfare and Cultural Association (AWCA) was established ten years ago, with a view to meet the needs of the minority Asian Community in Eastleigh, who were often isolated and had poor access to information about services and resources in the community and their place in it.

It had a particular focus on older people from those communities and this continues through the Asian Elders Group.

The Association became a registered Charity in August 2010 and has a Board of Trustees who meet quarterly to discuss key matters at a strategic level:

• Dilip Joshi (Chair of Trustees)
• Caroline Wallace

The AWCA also has a Committee that organises the day-to-day running of the Association and meets quarterly.

The AWCA has members from various ethnicities and religions.
